12 Days of Christmas - Day 11

On the eleventh day of Christmas, WF brings to you the penultimate post in this series, pieces for a hair photoshoot with Jadoy.

I love creating images, whether it be behind the lens or providing clothing that can make a picture come together, it's always such an interesting experience. Sometime last year, I had the opportunity of working with my very talented sister who is a hair stylist, in creating some looks for images to go on her website. Here are two of the looks we came up with.

First is a bold curly hair statement that reminisces the 80's as well as a Spanish mamacita. I felt it would be well accompanied by an off shoulder mini floral dress. Beautifully modelled by Tife.

Second look was a Nubian mother and child. It was only appropriate that I favoured African print. I absolutely love mixing prints with each other as well as with other textures. 3d shapes and tulle are the little details that make these two pieces uniquely beautiful. From one doc to another...

...well, Medical student. :)

Tope aka Margaret is a lovely, beautiful girl studying medicine at the university of Nottingham. She asked me a few months back to make her a dress for the end of term cultural ball. I have special admiration for doctors & medics likewise, I'll never know why. It could be because I nursed the idea of becoming one for a long while growing up OR simply because I am addicted to Grey's Anatomy lol.

We had a consultation & she wanted to use a print fabric that her mum had bought. I find that sometimes print could look really casual and seeing as it was for a ball, I had to create something that would look dressy enough. I decided to do one of my favourite things in design which is to mix in another print. She was happy with the idea & equally happy with the outcome. Tope's choice of shoes was absolutely perfect. Here's how our photo session went:

 

 

As soon as we decide to step out for some outdoor pics, we encounter England Rainfall! Hooray! Just Typical -__- Typical for our weather to have mood swings, but it didn't stop us :D We decided to use umbrellas as props, I had one too to protect the 7d. Fun stuff :)

My Flosstastic Dentist!

lololol for lack of a better title. Everyone meet my brilliant, hot and fun dentist, Chanpreet!

I met Chanpreet in a very interesting way. Long story short, sometime last year, I needed a good dentist and she needed a dress made for a friend's ghanian wedding. My brother was one of her patients and so he linked us up! Woop! I got my treatments done and few months later, I got to make her a dress. Chanpreet is such a lovely, down to earth person. She owns a nice & stylish private dental practice with her husband in Victoria called Hermes(doesn't get more fashionable than this! lol ); yet she opts to work in my local NHS practice for a few days a week, because "what about the less privileged?!" such a kind heart! 

When we had a consultation, she told me the colours for the wedding were blue and yellow and she wanted a long fitted african print dress. I had to get the print and make sure that she'd like it. So when Chanpreet walks in for her fitting, and the first thing she says is: "I love the print", I feel so relieved. She has a great body and she sure turned heads at the wedding, getting me a few clients in return. Here's what she had to say about her dress: 

"I am so happy with the amazing dress Wura made me. It was so comfortable to wear and fit me perfectly! Everyone at the wedding was so impressed with my traditional outfit. I can't wait for my next bespoke dress! Thank you Wura! xo"
