12 Days of Christmas - Day 11

On the eleventh day of Christmas, WF brings to you the penultimate post in this series, pieces for a hair photoshoot with Jadoy.

I love creating images, whether it be behind the lens or providing clothing that can make a picture come together, it's always such an interesting experience. Sometime last year, I had the opportunity of working with my very talented sister who is a hair stylist, in creating some looks for images to go on her website. Here are two of the looks we came up with.

First is a bold curly hair statement that reminisces the 80's as well as a Spanish mamacita. I felt it would be well accompanied by an off shoulder mini floral dress. Beautifully modelled by Tife.

Second look was a Nubian mother and child. It was only appropriate that I favoured African print. I absolutely love mixing prints with each other as well as with other textures. 3d shapes and tulle are the little details that make these two pieces uniquely beautiful. One a one shoulder top and the other a cape. Presenting Zainab & La'shawna

Ho ho ho Merry Christmas!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5

On the fifth day of Christmas, WF brings to you... 5 floral and lace dresses.

About 2 weeks ago, I celebrated my 25th birthday in style, hosting a ladies brunch with a few beautiful and inspiring women :) Dress code (as I'm a sucker for themed parties) was florals and laces. I made 2 lace numbers for myself, 2 florals and a lace for my friends and sisters. (#wuwuat25 on Instagram)

The first of my lace numbers: blush pink midi lace dress.

The Second of my lace numbers: ivory lace dress with pale blue underlay.

A Floral smock dress for my sister.

Mint floral body con dress for my friend Janet.

Off shoulder pink lace dress for my sister Gifty

And that's all for the dresses:) Peep some of the little details that made the day very special. Sweet treats table all done by my very gifted sis Doyin.

Ho ho ho Merry Christmas!

Back in Time : 50s

Happy New Year lovely readers! Yes I know it's already the 21st day of the year.. (SMH at me)! ! 2014 is already a very exciting year for me & the brand! I look forward to creating & sharing more and more beautiful dresses; and possibly my first wedding gown. :D Hope you've all caught the bug; the good bug that gives the feeling of a brilliant year ahead!!

Today's post is reminiscent of the 50's. Think Grease, Cadillac Records & my major inspiration coming from Maggie Gyllenhall's character in Mona Lisa Smile - Giselle Levy; a sexually advanced student who is even said to have slept with the studly Italian teacher :O :O lool. She is beautiful, understanding and very stylish!

Praise is a lovely, stunning girl who had been invited to a 50's themed awards evening and I asked to make her a dress. Florals + dusty pink + lace make up this gorgeous dress that I absolutely love. We did the photo shoot in the very arty Fish Island.

Hope I did the 50's justice :)

Back to Black

So I recently got my hair done. I'm in the process of going natural, woohoo, if you're familiar with the terms bc, twa, apl, lc, dc, transitioning, twistout, wash and go, protective styling, nappyversary, 4a, 4b, 4c ; I'm about to join your lil cult lool! I decided to have twists in and also in colour 1(Jet Black). I loved the outcome so much, I decided to make an outfit. Nubian and afrocentric were words that had been used to describe my hair so this inspired the design of the top. It's a fusion of pieces of fabric that i had leftover from previous creations. Hope you like it.

Btw can anyone spot the two outfits previously posted that will sit well in a collection with this top??? Post the blog title in the comments and you just might get a free print dress :)
Till Next Post
